Roundup Central School has a long-standing history for providing local students with a quality education. Most
recently, in 2009, the school was recognized as a National Title
I Distinguished School. This award was based on making Annual
Yearly Progress (AYP) for over two years in a row. That same year the school was nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School. Also,
in 2009 Education Northwest, formally known as Northwest
Educational Laboratories did a feature article on the school that was
published in their magazine Northwest Education (http://educationnorthwest.org/resource/675).
In both 2009 and 2010 the principal of the school served on a
discussion panel presented by Education Northwest that examined
Today Central School serves approximately
320 students in grades K-6. These students are taught by a staff of
approximately 24 certified teachers and specialist. Support
staff includes 17 classroom/school and instructional aides, two
office personnel, a four member housekeeping/custodial staff, and a
five member cooking staff. All staff members at Central School strive
in their individual areas to make the learning experience of
students, both meaningful and positive.
